"Breeding to the Standard for quality, temperament and working ability"
What's New . . .

June 2009:  On 6/11-14 we went to the UKC Premier in Kalamazoo, MI.  Mink, Levi, Sherman and Cassie all qualified for the Top Ten.  Mink won the Top Ten Best of Breed Berger des Pyrenees.  She also won the breed each of the next three days.  These wins made her the first UKC Grand Champion Berger des Pyrenees.  She also remains #1 for 2009.  Sherman also finished his Grand Champion title by winning the Champion class--he only needed one win to finish.  Calvin won the Champion class once giving him his first win toward his Grand.  Cassie was the big winner!  She won the big Top Ten Junior Showmanship event!!!  This was a very prestigious win and both Sherman and Cassie worked hard for it.  Cassie also won Best Junior at one of the regular shows as well as second place on another day.  She and Sherman brought home a lot of juniors' points!
May 2009:  On 5/29 Vito won an Award of Merit at the Ridgeback National.  A very nice win for a dog that just turned 3.
On 5/28 Pink was bred to Gain from CO.  Hopefully Cindy will be having Ridgeback puppies in July.
On 5/26 we went to the Ridgeback specialty.  Calvin won 2nd in sweeps and in his regular class.  Ferris finished his Rally Excellant title!!!
On 5/21-5/25 we attended the AKC shows in New Castle, PA.  Mink won Best of Breed once and Best of Opposite once.  Levi won Reserve Winner's dog twice and Winner's dog once for his first major.  Cassie went Best Junior 2 days, won her class one day and got third on another day.  She was the only one to win multiple Best Juniors and the only one to win her class on multiple days.  She was glad to bring home a lot of juniors' points.
On 5/15 we arrived in OH for the Pyr Shep specialty.  We also picked up "Ethan" on that day.  We were lucky enough to stay with our friend Kris during the 11 days we were in OH.  At the specialty, Ethan won Best of Opposite in Baby Sweeps and in the regular Baby Puppy classes.  Mink and Levi were both rated "Excellant" by Austrian breeder-judge Chistian Janes.  Mink made the cut at the national.  At the regional on 5/18, Mink went Best of Opposite to her brother Tugger.  Cassie won Best Junior for the third straight year.
On 5/14 Ruff went to his new home in MO.  We miss him but we hear that he's settling in nicely and is a cherished part of his new family.
On 5/12 Megan was euthanized.  She had not been doing well over the last couple of weeks.  Her body was temporarily donated to MU for their research of DM and other studies.  She was a "normal" but she was still needed for their research.  It turns out that she had multiple cancer sites.  We miss her a lot.  She was easy to live with and had a silly personality to the end.  She was our first obedience titled RR.  We miss her and hope that her contribution to MU will help other dogs.
April 2009:  On 4/25-26 we went to 3 UKC shows in Norman, OK.  Sherman was a SUPERSTAR!!!  He won a Best in Show and 2 Reserve Best in Shows!!!  Mink won the breed all 3 shows giving her 3 legs toward her Grand Championship.  She also received a Group 1, 2 & 3.  Calvin won the breed twice and got 2 Group 1's.  Penny finished her UKC Championship and won the breed once and received a Group 1.
The current AKC stats (through 2/28) show Cassie as the #4 junior handler in the Hound Group and the #1 15" Beagle junior handler.  She has only shown 4 weekends so far this year.  Mink is currently the #2 Pyr Shep in breed and all-breed points and she is the #1 female.  Also for AKC, Vito is in the top 5 for all breed and breed points.

On 4/3-5 we went to an AKC show near Wichita, KS.  Levi finished his RN with a 2nd place out of 25.  His RN combined with his CGC that he received earlier in the week gave him his versatility title VP1.  Mink won Best of Breed all 3 days.  Sherman won Best of Breed 2 days.  Ferris got 2 legs on his RE title.  Calvin got Reserve Winner's Dog to a major 1 day.  Cassie was one of 8 finalist in the Central Region Finals in junior showmanship so she got a really cool embroidered jacket.  Cassie also won her juniors class on Sunday which gave her all her wins needed to qualify for the Eukanuba National Championships in December.
